Aegeus recognizes Theseus as his son

Aegeus was the father of Theseus. He was the king of Athens and was the son of Pandion II. He was placed on the throne by his brothers, replacing his usurping uncle Metion

In MythEdit

He lost a war against Minos of Crete, who forced him to anually send seven young men and women to be fed to the Minotaur. Upon his son's request, Theseus was sent as one of the hostages. He told Theseus to raise a white flag on his ship so he knew that Theseus survived. However Theseus failed to do so and Aegeus threw himself of a cliff into the Aegean Sea, named after him. Theseus succeeded him  as king.
