In Welsh mythology, Afagddu is the son of the goddess Ceridwen. Afagddu was supposedly the ugliest man in the world. So that Afagddu could become wise and respected, compensating for his appearance, Ceridwen boiled a cauldron of knowledge for a year and a day. However, Afagddu’s brother Gwion Bach, who was set to watch over the cauldron, accidentally ingested the three drops of inspiration, depriving Afagddu of the gift.
