Clotho was one of the three Fates, a goddess of destiny. She, along with her two sisters, Lachesis and Atropos, have the job of deciding the fate of everyone, including the immortal gods. Clotho's specific job was to weave the thread of a person's life.

Mythology

Clotho is the daughter of Erebus and Nyx and as a result, sister to Hypnos and Thanatos. Her well known sisters are Lachesis and Atropos, together they are the three Fates, goddesses of fate and destiny. Clotho weaves the threads beginning all life. Her Roman Equivalent is Nona, who was believed to be a daughter of Uranus and Gaia. Clotho is depicted as a young maiden.
