Edith Hamilton

Achilles is the son of the mortal Peleus and Nereid Thetis. Thetis dipped Achilles in the water but forgot to dip Achilles' foot. In the Trojan War, Paris, aided by Apollo shot Achilles with an arrow at his heel. Achilles then died.
