Buer is a spirit that appears in the 16th century grimoire Pseudomonarchia Daemonum and its derivatives, where he is described as a Great President of Hell, having fifty legions of demons under his command.

Overview[]

He teaches natural and moral philosophy, logic, and the virtues of all herbs and plants, and is also capable of healing all infirmities (especially of men) and bestows good familiars. He has been described as a demon with the head of a lion and five or more goat legs surrounding his body to walk in every direction.

Buer in the Dictionnaire Infernal[]

The Infernal Dictionary is a book of demonology written in 1818 by the French occultist Jacques Auguste Simon Collin de Plancy. The entry for Buer is as follows:

Buer, second-class demon, president of the underworld; it has the shape of a star or a wheel with five branches, and advances while rolling on itself. He teaches philosophy, logic and the virtues of medicinal herbs. He boasts of providing good servants and restoring health to the sick. He commands fifty legions.
