Gefjun with a plow

Gefjun is a fertility and prophetic goddess in Norse mythology. All those who die virgins become her handmaids. She is described in myth as having created the Danish island of Zealand by removing land from Sweden. The hole left filled with water and became either one of two Swedish lakes; Mälaren or Vänern.
