She is a very popular goddess and is worshipped along with her husband. Her vahana (mount) is an elephant.

Lakshmi was incarnated along with her husband Vishnu several times. She frequently became his earthly consort in his bodily form; Sita when he became Rama and Rukmini for Krishna.
