The Ogdoad was a group of eight primeval deities in Egyptian mythology. They were created in male and female pairs and portrayed as either animals or zoocephals (males are frogs and females are snakes). The members of the Ogdoad were Nun and Nunet, Hehu and Hehet, Keku and Keket and Niau and Niaut (sometimes replaced by Amun and Amunet).
