Thalassa

Thalassa was a primeval water goddess in Greek mythology. She was the daughter of Hydros and Thesis and consort of Pontus. Her children were the Telkhines. She was, like other primeval water gods, eventually eclisped by, first, Oceanus and Tethys and later Poseidon and Amphitrite. She was sometimes portrayed as a woman rising from the waters.
